Foot MassageMassage is an effective remedial tool for treatment of painful arches, limited ankle movement, water retention, aching, tired feet, poor circulation, and general stiffness in the feet.
When the musculature of the feet is out of alignment, this tends to reflect in sensitive calves, tight hamstrings, hips with limited movement, and muscular imbalances extending into the lower back. |
ReflexologyReflexology is an ancient technique, and has been practiced in both Traditional Chinese Medicine and ancient Egypt. It was developed into its modern form during the early 20th century by William H. Fitzgerald and later, by Eunice D. Ingham.
I find reflexology particularly effective for people who battle to stay grounded, or individuals who have physical problems in the feet, legs, and hips. I stick to a fairly methodical process of deep pressure on all the major reflexes, with a focus on balancing the flow of energy throughout the body. I find this to be the most effective way to use the technique. I often use reflexology as a precursor to energy healing, to bring energy into the body 'from the bottom up'. |
